Arriving by plane

Fly into San Diego International Airport (SAN).

Depending on where you live, it may be less expensive to fly into Los Angeles (LAX) and take a shuttle or Amtrak train to San Diego. We're currently researching options for this, so keep checking this page for updates!

Ground Transportation

Walk out the door from Baggage Claim, cross this drive, and you're at the Ground Transportation area. If you arrive on an international flight, walk a short distance to this crosswalk.

San Diego State University is about 12 miles from the airport.

Shuttle / Taxi / Uber / Lyft

As you cross the road the Shuttle & Taxi stand is on your left.

• San Diego Shuttle - No reservations. Desk open 7:30am to 11pm

• SuperShuttle - Takes reservations. Desk open 7:30am to 11pm. If you come in after the desk closes you can go directly to a blue shuttle bus.

Walk  to the Ride Share area, which is at the far side of the Ground Transportation area, on the right. If you order up a ride with Lyft or Uber it should pick you up here. Be sure to watch for your driver -- there are other traffic lanes and your ride share driver might pull into the Taxi lane by mistake.

by car

SDSU is just off Interstate 8, between La Mesa and Interstate 15.

This map shows three possible routes from the airport.

If you plan to park anywhere on campus, you will need a parking permit
